About this event

A priority of the NEFRC Board of Directors this year, NEFRC staff will begin work on a regional approach for trail development and connections, which includes creating a regional look at tourism and marketing of these assets. The goal is to increase opportunities to improve the quality of life for residents while also attracting visitors to spend time and dollars in the region.

NEFRC serves as the convenor for these types of issues – there is GREAT work happening here in Northeast Florida. We need your knowledge, vision, goals & strategies, and local expertise to help guide the process and to develop consensus on how to help Northeast Florida raise the bar on ecotourism opportunities and build on the unique assets of our communities – hiking, biking, and paddling trails.

This meeting sets the stage for the work, and we invite you all to listen in. Please forward this invite to all who may be doing this work in your community or might be interested in playing a part!

Regional Planning Councils are authorized by Florida Statutes. There are 10 Regional Planning Councils in the State of Florida. The Northeast Florida Regional Council, which covers Regional District 4, was formed in 1977 by an inter local agreement, pursuant to Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, to "...establish an organization that will promote area-wide coordination and related cooperative activities of federal, state, and local governments ensuring a broad based regional organization that can provide a truly regional perspective and enhance the ability and opportunity of local governments to resolve issues and problems transcending their individual boundaries."
